On a typical night, you can find my roommates and I in sweatpants, watching netflix. We clock in around 10pm, and wake up early for work. When someone has a bad day, and we all sit on our counter top, drink some wine and talk about it. However bad the day, we almost always end up laughing, and going to bed with full hearts.
Living with 3 other girls and animals is not necessarily what I pictured for myself while navigating my twenties, but good grief, I wouldn't have it any other way. Each of us bring different personalities, passions, fashion taste, and relationships to the house. But most importantly, it's a safe place for us. I can come home from a rough day at work, and just be. If I need to vent, it's uncensored, and I'm able to let my guard down with honest thoughts and struggles. And in the same hour, we can be on the floor laughing about something dumb our animal did, or a that's what she said joke.
I didn't know how much I needed this place until I experienced it.
It's a unique place where we live together as roommates AND friends.
Sure, we disagree, and get annoyed with each other. We have a chore chart for a reason, people!
But at the end of the day, there is no one I'd rather navigate my twenties with. Going on dates, new jobs, hard work environments, busy seasons, animals pooping in the house, gym trips followed by doughnut trips.
